If you could pick a cartoon world to live in, which would it be? Why?

I think my answer would depend on some assumptions I'd have to make…
1) Am I simply a resident in this cartoon world, normal in every respect except for the fact that I live there instead of here? Or do I have the powers/abilities/capabilities normally associated with this cartoon world?
It would be pretty cool to be a superhero in a superhero cartoon world, but who would want to be your average citizen in Metropolis while Superman tries to keep Lex Luthor and various other baddies from bringing the city down around your head (sometimes with disastrous results)?
I certainly wouldn't want to be attending an opera in Gotham City and have to worry about some muggers accidentally killing my wife and myself and leaving my child a rich orphan.
However, if I could live in New York City and swing from skyscraper to skyscraper with the help of my web-shooters, that would be pretty darn cool.
2) Do I have to abide by the unstated rules/etiquette of the cartoon world?
Wiley Coyote never gets the Roadrunner. Elmer Fudd never outsmarts Bugs Bunny. Dr. Claw always escaped from the fumbling mechanical hands of Inspector Gadget. I could see myself getting bored with the cut-and-dried continual struggle of good vs. evil with no resolution. That's not to say I wouldn't rule these environments out entirely – there's something to say for living in a world where people can get a cannonball dropped on their head and come out of it ok in the next scene. I'm just not sure how many times I'd be willing to be run over with a steamroller before I snapped.
Assumptions aside, I think I'd have to pick something like Futurama for my cartoon world to live in. Not just because it is set in the future, where everything seems to be automated or every job done by some variation of robot, but because it seems like every day would be fraught with interesting (if perilous) adventures, even for the regular joe schmoe citizen. And if I got bored, I could always just kick back with my 300" flat screen TV (resolution greater than real life!) and watch the latest episode of "All My Circuits".

I agree with you. I do prefer the Adult Swim cartoons. At least there's always something going on with innuendos.
