Which professional athlete in any sport has the most star power?
I've started writing a response to this QotD three times and erased every one of them. I've decided the problem isn't my answers, it's the question. I will provide you three other QotD questions that are just as worthless instead.
1. Which member of the US Senate has the best hairstyle?
2. What kind of dictionary is the best to use for pressing flowers in between the pages?
3. How often should Larry King interview Paris Hilton?
My answer to all of these (including the original) is "I don't care, and why the hell should I?".
Vox, remember that the best way to get people talking is to get them to talk about themselves. If you had phrased this question slightly differently (i.e. What professional athlete do you admire most, and why?) you'd get people who might write great posts about how Lance Armstrong inspired them to fight cancer, or how Billie Jean King's match against Bobby Riggs helped boost one woman's self-confidence in the never ending struggle towards female equality in a male-dominated society. Instead, the answers to the question as stated become almost as interesting as discussing baseball statistics.
