mp3eme VOX: GAME ON!

Let's start things off big…and you can't have anything bigger than games without frontiers!

Games Without Frontiers
Peter Gabriel

And in honor of my wife, who braved the rain to go to a high school football game tonight….

For some people, jumping someone else's train seems to be the only game in town (man, I should have put this on the Calliope, too!)

I think it's about time to stop this game.  I'm sure you're ready for me to stop, too.

Ringfinger :: Broken Promise Ring

Part of the Calliope No. 8 group's music chain.

This is an awesome concept…can't wait to see what comes out of this group.  Here's my latest card in the game – Ringfinger to Broken Promise Ring should be pretty self-explanatory…

And Dave, seriously, I'm not stalking you…you just keep finding the cool places to hang out.

Vox Hunt: Guilty Pleasure

    Audio: Show us the most embarrassing album in your collection.

    Inspired by Jay.

There are a couple albums I own that could fit this category.  I have this strange affinity for certain singers that seem to only be popular with teenage girls (Shakira, Avril Lavigne, etc) – I don't listen to them often, but I own a couple of their albums.

However, there's one album that HAD to take precedence here, only because I get blank stares whenever I describe it to someone, which leads to me overexplaining, and then on to me starting to get embarrased when the expressions on the person's face turns from a blank stare to a mix of bewilderment and pity as they try to figure out how to get out of the conversation I'm in.  Seriously, it's not that bad….is it?

Short Music for Short People

Yeah, you read that right.  101 assorted "punk" bands playing 30-second-or-less tunes, brought to you by the same folks at Fat Wreck Chords who make all the Fat Music compilation volumes.  Except this one is especially embarrasing to try to explain to people unfamiliar with the genre or the compilations.

I actually find myself only liking about half of the tunes on the album, but there are some pretty cool things you can do in 30 seconds.  Here's a sampling of the ones I like, so you can get an idea.  I figure 7 tunes at 30 seconds each is equivalent to me posting on regular radio-length tune…

Warning – some of the tunes contain minor profanity – just an FYI.
