The wife and I (and a few of her immediate family members) are looking to go on a Caribbean vacation in January of '09. We're actively looking right now through various travel agencies for a decent deal that isn't going to break the bank but is also an all-inclusive resort (meals, drinks, tips, etc) and preferably has no kids allowed on the resort. Has anyone out there been to any resort in any of the islands that they recommend or do not recommend? Please leave a comment if you have something to help us narrow our choices.
Also:
- The wife and I have been to Secrets Excellence in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. It was wonderful and we're looking for something similar, but probably don't want to go back to the same place. Going to the one in Cancun is a possibility, but some of us have been to Cancun before and may want to go somewhere else.
- I've been to Negril, Jamaica, but not to an all-inclusive resort. Not sure how they compare but where I was staying struck me as more suitable for college kids than more grown-up folks.
- A couple people have suggested St. Thomas (no specific resort).
